B&W Tattoos,The Cohasset Bridge, MA

The big tattoo is of "Michael the Archangel", the nemesis of Satan & the tattoo underneath it is "the bridge" on Border Street in Cohasset, Massachusetts. Jumping off the bridge into the rapids below is a rite of passage for the kids who live on the South Shore. Lots of them who have grown up & moved away still jump when they're back in Boston. A man I got to talking to once ( in Florida), after asking him for directions, happened to be from Cohasset & raised his family there... the bridge was mentioned & he told me that all of his boys asked their fiancees to jump the bridge with them before they proposed to them. I had to laugh because my son has always said that he plans to do the same thing! I've never jumped but it's on my list of things to do someday....I think... I'm so afraid of heights I'm not positive I will really do it but I hope to give it a try in April.

  1. Jumping off a bridge would take courage galore for me! Sometimes though we need to do these symbolic things to let ourselves know we have what it takes! Thanks for all your great comments Helene over at the Camp Host Housewife's Meanderings.

  3. It does look painful but sometimes the reasons behind having a tattoo takes away or makes the pain bearable. The tattoo here seems to represent a passage, and its meaning makes the pain less. Great photo!
    Happy Halloween!

  5. Interesting photo! My stepson used to hate tattoos...then one day he decided to tattoo a wedding ring on his hand because he's a plumber and can't wear his ring..then he got tattoos on his legs...pictures of his daughters and wife in Dia de Los Muertos style...now he's getting a divorce...I wonder what he'll do???

  6. I don't know! Maybe he won't mind having that chapter of his life illustrated on his body, & he'll get started on some new tattoos for the next phase of his life; he could make a design out of his wedding ring since he can't throw it away or pawn it!...Should be interesting whatever he does since people who get tattoos usually have a unique way of doing things. Thanks so much for reading & commenting on my posts.
